Child care institutions (CCI) are temporary homes for children without parental care, awaiting adoption by suitable families.
Below is the hierarchy of adoption agencies in India
Gaps Found
❌ No ongoing checks in place to determine whether a child should continue to be institutionalized
❌ No evaluation of child adoption process to help higher authorities make informed decisions
❌ Children stay institutionalized, facing significant physical, emotional and psychological risks
❌ No way for parents to keep a track of their adoption stage and manage their documents.
